About the Kitchener Community
There are two neighbourhoods in Kitchener that have opened their doors to the Pathways to Education Program. Both communities are diverse, with a wealth of languages and cultures represented among the participants. The two neighbourhoods, both of which are in the south-central core of Kitchener, have a high percentage of families living in public housing and new Canadians settling in the areas. Most importantly, with two of the highest dropout rates in Kitchener, the families in these neighbourhoods are eager to see the program succeed in their communities.
Catchment area:
The Chandler-Mowat and Valleyview neighbourhoods; and the Courtland-Shelley, Traynor-Vanier, and Greenfield neighbourhoods.
How to join:
If you are a student in grade 9 from the Kitchener catchment area and would like to find out how to join the Pathways to Education Program, you or your parent/guardian can contact Megan Conway at mconway@cfcc.ca or Christina Mancini at cmancini@cfcc.ca.
How to volunteer:
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer mentor or tutor, please contact Jasminka Klacar, Tutor/Mentor Coordinator, at jklacar@cfcc.ca, and let her know your area of interest and expertise.
