To commemorate the graduation season, Assan, a Pathways alum, and Matt, Pathways Ottawa’s Program Director, were live on-air with CFRA Radio Ottawa.
The interview focused on how the Pathways to Education Program is positively impacting the local community in Ottawa, and how Pathways to Education supports students to transition to life after high school.
Assan shared his own experience with Pathways to Education.
“Pathways to Education at every year and every different level throughout my high school time helped me…to do my best, to get that good mark, to make my family proud, to be the first one to go to post-secondary education in my family,” said Assan. “Things like tutoring…really helped motivate me to do better, but I couldn’t have done those things living in a lower housing community and with a single mother trying to do her best to work hard and have food on the table, so I used Pathways to Education as my second family.”
